Run Cursor Over Model The Nanuet Fire Engine Company was originally founded on December 18, 1860 with nine members. The department received its charter when the state legislature formally incorporated the "Nanuet Fire Engine Company" in 1862. Located in Rocklad County in the state of New York, the fire company today has more than 100 members and this year celebrates its 150th anniversary! In addition to planning for new fire apparatus, a new firehouse is also on the horizon. For a complete review of the interesting - and humorous - history of the Nanuet Fire Department visit their website by CLICKING HERE This model presents some very unique graphics,. Specifically the portrait "“Chief Nannewitt” (some historians claim that he was not a Chief and only part of the Kakiat Indian Tribe). Regardless if he was a Chief or not, “Chief Nannewitt” is still honored on the entire department’s fleet with a portrait on each cab door.
